At the last minute we had to cancel an existing B&B. We were happy to find the Old Ground Hotel had a room for us. You literally saved the last 3 days of our vacation. From the moment we arrived the front desk staff was ensuring our needs were met. The food in the pub off the lobby was nicely prepared and efficiently served with a smile. The breakfasts were the best we have had in Ireland and after eight trips to Ireland that is saying a lot. We have put the Old Ground Hotel and Ennis on our must stay when in Ireland list.

Staff were friendly, helpful and took the time to wish my son good luck in his competition, Thank you Veronica. Stayed on a Saturday night and Poets Corner bar was very busy but staff got us a table really quickly and there was no rush for us to leave having finished dining. Food was lovely. Hotel was fully booked but remained quiet during the night with no loud and unruly guests. Overall really happy with our stay.

I recenlty stayed for 1 night in The Old Ground Hotel. The hotel is conveniently situated an approx 10 minute walk from the railway station and right on O'Connell Street. All staff - both at check-in and check-out and also in breakfast room were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nicely finished. Breakfast was good. The hotel adjoins Poets Corner bar and restaurant. The reception staff were very accommodating in allowing my holdall to be stored for a while.

Only stayed one night Staff were fantastic and prompt. The hotel is full of old charm with an open fire in foyer with lounge chairs for relaxing could see it was very popular. We had our evening meal in the bar and it was very busy and meals were good. We had breakfast and they had a great range. The room.was very large and comfy bed. In the room I had, the bathroom was set up more for people needing mobility aids.

Beautiful hotel. Fabulous room and king-size bed. Very friendly welcome and efficient staff. Nice cooked breakfast. Excellent central location. Off season so got a terrific rate for bed and breakfast for such a top hotel. 12pm check out very welcome

I really prefer to have the main part of my breakfast served at the table and I was very pleased to discover this was the case with the Old Ground Hotel. Also the room was quite spacious which I liked. Full marks also to the bar staff who were very busy on Sunday night yet had time to have a word with the customers especially the man with the beard who remembered my drink from early Sunday afternoon when I called back later that night.

The room was lovely, nicely decorated & right size, the bathroom was roomy, loved the shower. Breakfast was excellent, the staff was very efficient & friendly, the food delicious. We chose the pub as our dinner location, not realizing it was also open to the public. It was an issue only because we were really tired from travel, would have appreciated a little less noise & busyness. The food was great & everyone was very nice. Parking was right at the hotel, with easy access & no additional fee. We also enjoyed the location, as we went for a lovely walk the following morning & a bit of shopping.

Very convenient location, near the centre of town and a short drive from a friend, whom we were visiting. It was very nice to receive a free upgrade to a deluxe room.

We especially enjoyed our meal in the old town hall. Food was lovely and the staff were so lovely. A special mention for Paulina. One of our party was a bit unwell and she was so kind and caring.
